This test is used to evaluate the level of thyroid hormones in the blood. It aids in the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism linked with high T4 and increased TBG binding. Increased level of TBG are also indicative of liver diseases (hepatitis), pregnancy and use of certain drugs including perphenazine, and hormone estrogen. Decreased level of TBG in serum are related to kidney and liver disorder, systemic disease and increase in glucocorticoids and steroids.
LabEspy recommends Walk-In Lab, Direct Labs for this test.
