This test is performed to check the presence of hepatitis B IgG and IgM antibodies. The presence of IgG means that the person infected has had the hepatitis virus A infection previously. However, the presence of IgM antibodies can be detected in blood after an initial HAV infection. Hepatitis B is a viral infection of liver where the liver becomes inflammable and tender, and tissues of the liver get destroyed due to inflammation. This situation is considered serious and sometimes fatal. The disease is spread by having unprotected sex, sharing needles for drugs etc. Initial symptoms include itching, sometimes with hives, painful joints, nausea, vomiting, foul breath and dark brown urine.
LabEspy recommends True Health Labs, Private MD Labs, Walk-In Lab for this test.
