This test is used to evaluate the level of λ and κ light chains of immunoglobulin molecules in the blood. It aids in the diagnosis of renal impairment (kidney failure) and monoclonal gammopathies (nervous problems, rash). Under normal conditions, the light chains are mainly present in bounded form. Very low levels of κ and λ ratio are indicative of bone marrow disorders. Abnormally high levels of serum κ and λ light chains suggest autoimmune disorder and malignances.
LabEspy recommends Ulta Lab Tests, True Health Labs for this test.
