This test is used to evaluate the level of IgA endomysial antibody in the blood. It is used for the diagnosis of gluten sensitivity enteropathy (Dermatitis herpetiformis and Celiac disease). Celiac is a severe genetic disorder and is characterized by the sensitivity and indigestion of gluten, and cause destruction of small intestine. This test detects the presence of antibodies against endomysial, which is the outer layer of muscle fibers. The symptoms that lead to the recommendation of this test include, vomiting, blood in stool, joint pain, anemia, diarrhea or constipation and flatulence.
