This test is used to evaluate the level of chromium in the body. This test does not indicate the levels of chromium in diabetic patients with suspected chromium deficiencies. Chromium is the mineral which affects the insulin levels, fat, carbohydrates, and protein levels in the body. Occupational exposure or the exposure with environmental contaminated chromium may lead TO chromium toxicity as well as, over use of supplements having chromium may also lead to chromium toxicity. This test is used to diagnose the evidence of renal and hepatic damage and chromium induced asthma. Other symptoms that lead to the recommendation of this test include skin allergy, persistent cough or a mass lesion on chest.
